Easy Smokey Barbeque Chicken Breast Recipes

Easy Smokey Barbeque Chicken Breast Recipes

Most people can throw a piece of chicken on a BBQ grill and cooking it to eat; with just a little extra effort, you can turn that average chicken breast into a tender and moist cut with amazing flavours that will have your guests asking how you did it.

At Fresh Meat Packs, we pride ourselves on offering the finest cuts when our customers want to buy chicken online for their BBQs. Below, we have shared a popular (and easy!) recipe that will be sure to impress your guests.

This classic recipe for BBQ chicken has stood the test of time here at Fresh Meat Packs, and once you've tried it, you'll see why.

Ingredients

You need:

  • The finest British chicken breast fillets. These will need to be tenderised with a mallet to an even 0.9cm or half an inch to prepare it for marinating.
  • Vegetable oil. This will be the base of the marinade
  • Garlic: to add depth to the flavours
  • BBQ sauce. It can be any type you like. It will be applied as a glaze and provide a sweet, tangy, and smokey layer above the marinade.
  • Various spices. To complete the flavours, you'll need salt, light brown sugar, smoked paprika, cumin, chilli powder and cayenne pepper.

For a meal designed to serve four diners, follow these portions:

  • 1¾ pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon packed light brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chilli powder
  • ⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • About 250ml of chosen barbecue sauce

Prepping the Chicken

Combine the dry spices with the garlic and oil in a large bowl until sufficiently mixed with a whisk. Add the chicken with tongs, evenly cover the breasts with the marinade, and leave them in the bowl. Place the covered bowl in the fridge for between 6 and 24 hours before cooking.

Barbequing the Chicken

Oil the cooking grill and pre-heat it to a high setting of 218°C - 232°C (425°F to 450°F)  to create a wider direct heat zone. Grill the chicken with the cover down for 2-3 minutes, then flip the breasts and apply a brush of barbeque sauce. Repeat this process for 10-20 minutes and check with your digital thermometer that the chicken is cooked all the way through at 73°C (165°F).

Serve on a serving platter with a fresh, summery salad.
